Kothu Parotta & Pachidi


Yes...You might have guessed it right. Kothu parotta is my next post. With parottas and chalna in hand what better dish can I think of? So, here you go ...the recipe of my all time favorite.

Ingredients:
cooked parotta- 3
onion- 1
ginger garlic paste- 1tsp
tomato-1
green chillies-3
turmeric- 1/4 tsp
curry leaves
eggs-2
chalna- 1 cup
Procedure:
Heat oil in kadai and fry pattai and cloves. Then add onions, ginger garlic paste, chillies,turmeric & curry leaves.When the onion gets cooked add tomato. saute for sometime. Then add parotta and fry for a minute. Now add eggs,salt and pepper. Blend everything together. When the egg is almost done add chalna and break eveything into small pieces using two spatulas. Check for seasonings. Finally add corriander leaves.

  4. Chalna is a chicken gravy that is very popular in madurai. Some people call it salna too. Check out this link for chalna's recipe.

    Came across your receipe ..Looks delicious. Can you please tell me , which flour to use for parota? is it maida or simple chapati wheat flour?

  9. Kribha, The photo looks very yummy.Iam so much tempted to try this at home but i never heard a word chalna in Tamil. Would u mind to explain it a bit?

    A warm welcome to you dear. Chalna or Salna is a coconut based watery chicken gravy. It is not thick like the kurma and is usually somewhat brown in color.I have posted the recipe for chalna in my blog. Check out the following link. Try it out sometime. You will surely like it.
