Cabbage Poriyal

When I took pictures of my cabbage poriyal my " always" supporting hubby made a comment- " Wow. Very soon you are going to post how to boil water and how to make boiled eggs". I did not know what to say. Luckily I came across Injimanga's "cabbage thoran". I was so happy to see my exact thoughts being posted there. Thanks InjiManga.

Ingredients:
Cabbage- 2 cups(shredded)
onion- 1/4 (chopped)
red chillies-2
curry leaves- few
coconut- 1/4 (shredded)

Procedure:
Heat oil and fry mustard seeds, urad dal and channa dal. Then fry onions, turmeric, red chillies and curry leaves . Now add cabbage and stir fry for sometime. Then add very little water and required salt.Cook till the vegetable is done but still crisp. Finally add shredded coconut and cook till dry.

First of all Kirba, you should realise "Men are from Mars" . They are totally clueless species. :)

Jokes apart, I do think food blogging is all about simple homely foods. If we want to make ala Frech or something, we would get a good cookbook, right? Not that we shouldnt make complicated dishes, but simple homely food is what makes food blogging so unique.

Yes, you should know there are people who asked me how to boil eggs. So, go ahead and put a post on that. How to get the perfect boiled egg.

The Queen of Indian food blogs have numerous posts like those, how to make curd, etc etc. So you see simple techniques and recipes will make us feel we are visiting a home not a restaurant. Thats what food blogs are, should feel like visiting a home. :)

Take care
Inji Pennu (O btw, it looks like my husband and yours went to the same school! ) :)

Welcome to Food Blogging.

Hi asha,
good to see you again. yes, it's indeed a very easy curry. I make it all the time as I'm lazy for an elaborate cooking most of the time.

Hi Inji,
I had a good laugh after reading your comment. Waiting to show it to my hubby when he comes home. Thanks for visiting.

Hi Inji,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Really I am a new blogger ...two months old. Actually, for a long time I felt very shy to comment on others blog as I am not a good writer. I have always wondered how you all(my senior bloggers) write such good stories before each recipe.Still, I loved to get to know you all. So I thought...ok let me make myself visible. That's my story.

BTW, I'm sorry to write the vegetable names in tamil. I do not know the name in English. will surely take picture of those ingredients and update the post.
Thanks again for visiting.
